Easy Dal Preparation-A North Indian Style

Today i was busy with some work and i didn’t have enough time to try a new dish. So prepared a fast and easy to cook dish, DAL. As the name conveys, dal is the best and easy to cook item on my menu always. Many of you might be knowing it. However this is for newbies who still doesnt know how to cook dal in a fast manner..

Serves: 4

Ingrediants:

  • Dal 250 gm
  • turmeric powder: 2 small t-spoons
  • Salt - 1 1/2 tsp (according to ur taste)
  • Jeera(cumin seeds)- 1 tsp
  • Ghee - 3 tsp
  • Green Chillies or Red chillies (2 or 3)

Preparation:

  • wash the dal thoroughly , put in a pressure cooker.
  • Add 500 ml of water and cook it till we get 5 whistles, Leav it aside unopened for 5 min

  • Mean while take 3 tsp Ghee and mix it with cumin seeds and chillies in a seperate bowl.
  • heat the ingredients till cumin seeds turn into dark brownish in color
  • Now, mix the heated ingredients with the dal.
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves.

Now, the dal is ready to eat, serve it along with the rice and post your comments here. I bet you definitely feel better with the time it saved for you,
